Dear e-Business Express Clients,
As most of you know, during the first week of November we completed what turned out to be a very time consuming and difficult data center migration from Baltimore, MD to a SAS70 certified facility in Andover, MA. I am pleased to report all phases of our migration are now complete.
Just to give you a little background to help put the datacenter migration in perspective. We currently host web sites in three data centers. Prior to the migration, the data center in Baltimore, Maryland, run by Alabanza, was the largest. We had several rack/server agreements with them. Recently, a large publicly traded company called Navisite acquired them. Shortly after the acquisition, they elected to shutdown the Baltimore NOC and perform a virtual migration to Andover. In preparation for the migration, NaviSite made significant investments to the underlying server infrastructure in the Andover data center. The new platform is built upon several state-of-the-art technologies including SUN virtualization hardware with VMWare and EMC storage area networks. The environment is designed to dramatically improve scalability and reliability, and provides more elastic computing. In addition, the Andover datacenter is SAS70 certified and part of a Green Grid initiative, meaning the new infrastructure is more environmentally friendly.
As a result of our datacenter migration, we are positioned to provide world class performance and services for your web site for many years to come. Thank you for your patience and support throughout the project.
Best Regards,
Greg McNeil
